Broken promise in Dharapuram: farmers say TVK's crop-loan waiver is a maze of slabs, caps and exclusions
On the eve of the October 6 Dharapuram bypoll, farmers accuse the TVK government of hollowing out its flagship promise of a full crop-loan waiver — replacing it with shifting slabs, a Rs 75,000 cap, and exclusions for March loans, pensioners and dairy farmers. Officials did not respond to questions.
